Charity Miles Champion: Jessica Rossing

Table of Contents

Charity Miles Champion Jessica Rossing decided that she was going to enter her 30s with a bang. She created a challenge to inspire her family and community to stay active and give back.

I created my 30th birthday challenge, 30 is a great number. It takes 30 days to create a new habit. So 30 miles in 30 days just clicked. I added the 30 miles a week challenge for an extra push for everyone. Hopefully this challenge will keep people accountable during the holiday season.

When I first heard about charity miles I thought it was GREAT! I decided to add this as a part of my challenge. I was looking for a way to give back to the community and make a difference in this world. I also wanted to make a larger impression by getting the active people in my life involved. All my tribe needed to do was open the app, run/walk/bike and make a difference.

On the first Saturday of December, I hosted a 3.0-mile run in Duluth. I asked everyone to log their miles via the app. I’m also asked for a $5 suggested donation. 100% of the money will go to our local humane society, Animal Allies. I December 19th (my birthday) I hosted another race and 100% of the money went to Open Arms.
